Athlete, Competitor, Good Guy. Josh lives in the Pensacola area of Florida, so he gets to ride his handcycle throughout the year along the Florida Gulf Coast.
Training for competitions is important for him, but just as important for Josh is having the opportunity to help folks get started with handcycling, or other wheelchair sports. Josh has a well-earned reputation as a polite, friendly, caring teacher of sport. He takes all the time needed to help new riders and athletes get started and can explain the nuances of different bikes and sports wheelchairs and how they will relate to differing disabilities. Josh’s goal is to help his customer have fun with their chosen sport, be healthy and active, and to get outside!
Josh is an accomplished monoskier, wheelchair tennis player and handcyclist. He is a three-time competitor of the grueling 280 mile Alaska Midnight Sun Handcycle Stage Race, has ridden his handcycle down the California coast from San Francisco to San Diego twice and has ridden in numerous Face of America rides with World TEAM Sports.
Josh is also proud of his involvement helping military veterans get the equipment that will best suit their needs and budget. Josh has been involved with the equipment needs for Team Semper Fi, Team America’s Fund, The Independence Fund, Hope for the Warriors and MARSOC Foundation. Josh is an active member of Team Semper Fi and the Paralyzed Veterans of America Handcycle Racing Team. Josh is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Bayou-Gulf States Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
