Handcycle Weekend

Get ready for an exhilarating weekend of handcycle excitement with Bike-On! We’re thrilled to announce our Handcycle Weekend, a new annual event hosted by Bike-On in tandem with the Jamestown Classic. So, mark your calendars and get ready to ride with us on the Rhode Island coast.

Bike-On Group Ride

This year, we are so happy to have a handcycle division in the ever-popular Jamestown Classic Bike Race. That is held on Sunday, October 8th, 2023. To prepare for the big race, we are hosting a special group ride for all riders and participants the day before, starting at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick RI.

Pasta Dinner at Bike-On HQ

After our group ride, we will be hosting a pasta dinner to gear up for the Jamestown Classic. We even have a special seminar hosted by our one & only Steve Chapman, an excellent hand cyclist and member of the Bike-On team. He’ll go into safety, tips, tricks, and things you should know about racing. This is great if this is your first time racing, what a perfect weekend this will be!

The Jamestown Classic

The Jamestown Classic is an annual event that is back after the events of COVID. It’s a fun 19-mile timed and supported ride on the scenic roads of beautiful Conanicut Island. Riders of all ages and ability levels are welcome to participate; you only need a bicycle, a helmet, and a desire to have lots of fun. All riders will receive a finish time based on sex, age, and ability level. Riders will be started in groups based on the number of pre-registered participants.

The Jamestown Rotary Club

This event is the main fundraising event for the Jamestown Rotary Club. In past years, these funds have been used to purchase wheelchairs for underprivileged individuals in Nicaragua, create a women’s literacy project in Ghana, water-sanitation efforts in rural communities, purchase music chairs for the Jamestown Middle School, support for the local Boy Scouts, contribute toward research for a cure to ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), maintenance of a clean water project in Cambodia, deploy educational technology to resource-deprived countries around the world and many other noteworthy items.

4:30 PM Pasta dinner at Bike-On Head Quarters: Meet the Bike-On team & fellow racers, try an array of bikes from our demo fleet, and carb up for the weekend.
5:30 PM Steve Chapman starts skills & safety seminar for new riders before the race
7:30 PM Pasta Dinner ends
